NCS monitors allowlisted publisher feeds and public agency updates. Social posts may surface a lead but cannot establish an incident alone.
NCS is an incident index and reporting aid—not an emergency service, official casualty register or prediction system.
Automation helps NCS monitor a large information environment. It does not make every claim true. Our interface therefore separates discovery from corroboration and links readers back to the reporting.
NCS monitors allowlisted publisher feeds and public agency updates. Social posts may surface a lead but cannot establish an incident alone.
The pipeline identifies dates, Nigerian states and LGAs, crisis categories and reported human impact without copying full articles.
Reports with matching location, date and event characteristics are linked to one incident. Canonical URLs and content fingerprints prevent duplicates.
One allowlisted report is Developing. Two independent reports can promote an incident to Corroborated. Conflicts remain visible as ranges.
Records may be corrected or withdrawn when better evidence arrives. NCS does not silently erase material changes.
Headlines, short excerpts, canonical links, publication times, extracted incident facts and source relationships. We do not republish complete articles.
Developing means a credible allowlisted source has reported the incident. Corroborated means a separate source supports the core event—not necessarily every figure.
Under-reporting, inaccessible locations, publication bias and changing official statements all affect the record. Absence from the map does not mean an area is safe.
Submit the story link and supporting evidence through the project contact channel configured before production launch. Material updates receive a corrected status and are not silently erased.
